Tesla Universal Wall Connector - Energy Data
Tesla continues to update their Tesla Universal Wall Connector with over the air (OTA) software updates! Reviewing the Tesla mobile app recently, there is now an Energy data menu where you can see more information about the energy being delivered to your vehicle. This video highlights this new feature.

    One of the worst decision people made buying this model unless you got only a screaming good buy because: The Chademo connection is being phased out The 8'' inch touch dsplay screen is subpar vs the competition There is no rear multinlink suspension (similar to the Bolt but the 2020 Bolt did add bettter suspension tuning at least) The lack of thermal management, limits the range the only two positive things you can argue in favor of it in this model year is the above average features of the Tech package that came standard with the SV Plus trim, and the front seats are arguably better built with more comfort than the 2020 Chevy Bolts,

    I just bought a 2020 Bolt with a replacement battery. I paid a lot less for it than a comparable ICE car. I will keep this car as long as the repair bills don't get ridiculous. I think that EV's have a long way before you can compare them to ICE cars. My hope is that I will save money by running electric instead paying for all of the maintenance that goes along with ICE cars. The performance is much better than say a Corolla and has a lot of bells and whistles. I could just buy a 10 year old Toyota and keep it maintained and it will probably last longer than a brand new EV. I'm giving this a shot as I can't tell you how much I hate oil changes in February.

    New Bolt owner (newish, I should say.. I bought a 2020 used) and this thing made that very same noise. It wasn't a particularly cold day though, we had just pulled off the highway and decided to charge at a station and shopped around for 20 mins. Came back to this gurgling noise. First time it's done it, I've charged multiple times prior and never heard this. Scared the crap out of me. Happy to know it's a normal thing, just don't know why its doing this in 70ish degree weather. Didn't give me any warnings or performance issues coming home, so I assume it's not something to be overly concerned about. Car knows stuff I don't I guess.

So I was just wondering where I could find that Chevrolet states that it's an 8 year warranty because I've been hearing that it's only a 3 year warranty.

      @EverydayEV 2 месяца назад

      Thank you for the comment and for watching, I’m glad the video was helpful! Sadly I can’t share links, but if you google “Tesla Wall Connector Power Management”, the link will be a Tesla.com page that will explain more. I believe ours was setup with a static install, meaning it will be max power (48amps, 11.5kW) if a vehicle can handle that, or if you have a limited space on your electric panel this can be adjusted based on the breaker. With our install, I knew I wanted the max power so I didn’t ask our electrician for options, but the nice thing is that you have options with this charger! I hope this is helpful!

      @@EverydayEV I have another question if that's okay. It's similar to my previous one. I know you said this Power Management, which is very useful with those options of static and dynamic. However, with your static setup, say you wanted to charge less than 48 amps one day to put less stress on the battery. Let's say we do 32 amps instead. Can you change this amperage through the Tesla app or inside of the vehicle through the screen? Also, can it be done through the app or inside the car for a non-Tesla vehicle, too? I hope this makes sense. I am especially wondering if you can change it through the app only or also in the vehicle for non-Teslas.

    • @EverydayEV
      @EverydayEV 2 месяца назад

      Oh sorry I totally forgot to answer that 😅 I know if you have a Tesla vehicle in your account, you can limit the amps using the Tesla app, but I don’t believe you can if you just have the charger set up in your account. Ive charged our Nissan LEAF using our Wall Connector and I have not seen an option to limit amps, there’s no option either in settings. I will note that Tesla does send OTA software updates to Wall Connectors, so hopefully they’ll enable this in the future!
